We are always looking for qualified Working Students to help with lessons and/or chores.

All Working Students must remain familiar with our Working Students Guide and watch the Working Students 101 video.

There are weekday and weekend openings. Interested riders (including adults!) should ask their instructors and call the farm line to get more information.

Working Students must be:

  • Current FMF riders

  • At least 12 years old

  • Reliably on-time!

  • Outgoing, friendly, and kind to EVERYONE– human and equine

  • Responsible, thorough, and orderly in work habits

  • Helpful to others

  • Willing to learn new skills

  • Self-motivated and ready to work hard!

Working students get to:

  • Ride in more lessons

  • Learn valuable skills

  • Educate new riders

  • Have fun!

Working student jobs include:

  • Greeting new riders

  • Assisting with lessons

  • Grooming and general horse care (treatments, turn-out, blanketing, etc.)

  • Feeding and watering

  • Mucking stalls and paddocks

  • Cleaning tack

  • Facilities maintenance (watering arenas, cleaning water troughs, etc.)

  • Other duties as assigned

Everyone (regardless of vaccination status) MUST:

  • respect physical distancing
  • e-sign the FMF waiver prior to/upon arrival of their first visit to the farm

If you have tested positive for COVID (regardless of your symptom status), do not come to the farm.
