Equitation Team Success!

March 5, 2024

A big congratulations to our three equitation teams that competed at Finale last weekend at PGEC!

Our JEL and NCSSEL teams both finished in 1st place at the Finale meet and in the end-of-season standings.

JEL riders Addison Lloyd (D1), Zoey Jolliffe (D2), Hailey Klau (D4), & Polly Tillman (D5) all finished the season in 1st place in their respective divisions. Charlotte Lauer (D3) finished 2nd; Korin Brandt (D4) finished 3rd; Emerson Canale (D1), Eden Moges (D2), & Monisha Somasundaram (D3) finished 5th; and Taara Thukral (D5) finished 7th, in their respective divisions.

NCSSEL riders Ryleigh Clagett & Chloe Spurgeon tied for 2nd in the end-of-season standings, and Sophia Perry finished the season in 5th place.

Our NCAEL team finished in 2nd place at the Finale meet (just half a point away from a tie for 1st!) and in the end-of-season standings. They tied for 1st place for the season for the horsemanship question.

Many of our NCAEL riders finished the season in the top 10 in their divisions: D1 riders Lauren Barker & Lois Abbott finished 7th & 9th, respectively; D2 rider Alex Whitehead finished 5th; Division 3 riders Mirrel Wothers & Gina Franz finished 4th & 6th; D4 riders Margaret Kellogg & Emily Jacobs finished 3rd & 8th; D5 riders Emily Stakem & Beth Shotwell finished 1st & 8th; and D6 riders Zellie Wothers & Christine Hryzak finished 2nd & 5th.

We’re looking forward to another successful season starting next fall!
