Campers will discover the wonderful world of horses and farm life! Campers enjoy daily riding, horse care lessons, guest speakers, horse-related crafts, nature hikes, games, and more- all during a week-long horse adventure!
Groups are formed by age and previous riding experience, to allow everyone to get the most out of their daily lessons. Ample assistance is provided for “new horse people”.
If you have questions or need help registering, please contact Ashley at ridewithfmf2@gmail.com.
We find that campers who have not previously ridden often enjoy their camp riding experience even more if they complete a few private lessons before camp begins, but this is not required. We are prepared for all riding abilities! If interested, please visit hopoti.com/stable/FullMoonFarm to schedule lessons prior to camp.
Please note that our camp is designed for ages 5 to 12, with most campers aged 7 to 11 years old.
We tailor each day based on the campers’ interests and abilities, as well as the weather. Camp activities include: morning riding lessons, horse care lessons, crafts, nature hikes, games, demo rides featuring our advanced riders, and guest speakers.
Previous years’ speakers include: farriers, veterinarians, equine dentists, equine chiropractors, trainers, and barn managers.
Activities range from learning how to properly groom and tack… to bathing a horse… to horse-related games and crafts!
We learn about breeds, markings, tack, barn management, equine health, and horse safety.
Our arts and crafts are a huge hit each year! Campers take home crafts each and every day, from painted horseshoes to framed photos of their favorite horse.
At Full Moon Farm, each day brings new learning, new adventure, and new fun!
Every camper should bring their own lunch in a cooler, snacks, and a water bottle. Water refills are provided.
Your rider must have long pants and hard-soled shoes with a heel to ride, but may bring a change of clothes and wear shorts during the non-riding portion of the day. (For safety, we do not permit open-toed shoes at any point during the day.)
We have school helmets available for riding, or riders may bring their own.
Everyone (regardless of vaccination status) MUST:
If you have tested positive for COVID (regardless of your symptom status), do not come to the farm.
